Senator McCain should just resign now -- and go into retirement. He's become a sore loser since President Obama was elected President. When Congress passed health insurance reform for President Obama to sign (his top legislative goal) McCain complained that Democrats had poisoned the climate with what they did and there would be no bipartisan cooperation -- no help from the other side for the rest of the year. Whether you like or dislike the legislation passed the way McCain complained showed him to be a sore loser.

Not only did he lose the Presidency to Mr. Obama but Obama got his top domestic legislative priority passed of his Presidency (well one of the top legislative overhauls passed and has now gotten his second one with Wall Street reform) McCain should learn a thing or two from his old friend John Kerry -- Kerry lost the 2004 Presidential election to then incumbent George W. Bush (who got a 2nd term in office) but bowed out gracefully, returned to the U.S. Senate to do good work there for the American public and his constituents from Massachusetts. Point is Kerry graciously admitted defeat he didn't become a sore loser like McCain did. McCain should have acted more like Kerry in this regard.

McCain's proud to block unemployment -- I am angered and saddened at the same time. If unemployment extensions keep getting blocked when their needed most people who are unemployed are going to have lots of problems -- how can they pay their bills (gas, electric, food, water, etc) without any money. Best way to stimulate economy is to give money to unemployed workers looking for work to spend that money on bills they need to pay like mortgage etc and other things mentioned above as they seek new employment.

Truth #1: I was laid off 2 weeks ago and am currently unemployed.

Truth #2: I don't expect the government to help me survive.

It's rare for me to say this about McCain, but I completely support him here. Our society has a very warped perception on the role of government, and it's costing us dearly. Government is NOT the solution to every problem - In fact, what they say is true; Government is usually the problem.

Ask not what your country can do for you - Ask what you can do for yourself

That's always been the American way.
