Mainstream Media FAIL: CNN Discusses the lack of African-Americans in TV News (urbanradionation.com)
CNN's Howard Kurtz notes that almost no major network and cable news anchors are African-American -- including CNN itself. It was almost impossible to get African-American guests to discuss this problem. They were afraid their bosses would object.

CNN does employ some African American news anchors like Don Lemon but is correct that there are only a few African American news anchors on the network and that major news and cable networks in general have few news anchors that are African American and have few African American guests to discuss this problem. This is a failure of the media to hire African American reporters and do objective coverage of African American issues.
Race representation is overrated and is solely image-oriented. Blacks only make up 13% of the population. I would guess they are over-represented in proportion to their population.
