Young and upcoming reporters are the future of tomorrow’s media. They are the people that are going to bring the revolution in the media sector. Currently, the media is having a hard time in reporting information. There are some of us that that have totally lost hope in the media. This is because of the frequent lies that are told by them. The last few years have been what can be described as hard times for the media. There have been many cases that have been reported. Some personalities have gone to the court to report that some of the media have been tarnishing their names by reporting news that is not true. This has really crumbled the credibility of the media.

But something that many people do not understand is the fact that the media thrives on controversies to get ratings and earn many viewers. Controversy is like their daily bread of life. Therefore, young reporters should be taught to refrain from looking at controversial stories in order to earn ratings. This will help in also boosting the credibility of certain types of media that are involved. What young media reporters need to know to be good truthful professionals is actually a lot. We are going to talk about some of them below. They should be followed very well in order for them to understand its essence.

The first thing that the reporters need to understand is code of ethics of reporting. They need to understand about the rights of the reporter and the people that they are reporting about. They should also have a good command of the freedom of the press so that they know to what extent they can go when reporting. They should also understand that reporting the truth is never optional; this makes accurate reporting very important. This is why they should be given mentors that will be taking them through the right code of conduct as a reporter and guiding them on reporting very interesting yet true factual stories.

Private personalities have their privacy rights which must be balanced well against the interest of the public when reporting things about them. This is one of the areas that most news reporters have actually failed. They do not know how to respect the privacy of people when reporting. Another important factor that should be taught to the young reporters is the importance of accuracy. They should be taught on how to report accurate reports. They can do this by thoroughly investigating a story before reporting. They should seek the information from the relevant sources that are truthful. They should never rely on one source of information. One source of information can be misleading. Reporting should not be causing harm in any way possible. This means that the young professionals should be taught on the harm limitation principle. This is where you report thinking of the concerned people. It is fundamental to know that the people also have feelings. Therefore, when one is aspiring to report, they should observe this principle. These are some of the important lessons that young media reporters should know if they want to become truthful reporters.

News reporting is a career that is considered not to be easy at all. This is because the world depends on you to disseminate information to them. Therefore, you will need to be as accurate as possible because most people tend to believe everything that they see on the news. There are the ethics of journalism and the standards that also comprise of some principles and ethics of sturdy practice that reporters need to apply.

Reporting accurately is one of the ethics that should be respected and upheld by all professionals. Some of the principals that need to be upheld are accuracy, truthfulness, impartiality, public accountability and fairness. All news organizations have their credibility and reputation that they rely on. Ethics also include the limitation of harm that is why as a journalist you will need to report accurately so that you prevent possible harm or damage to other people.

Why does a reporter need to report accurately? This is a question that has been lingering in the minds of many people. If you look keenly at the ethics of journalism and reporting, there are many reasons why as a reporter you need to give accurate information. The first reason is to prevent harm. Many people rely on the reporters to give them information that is accurate. Just in case you report something that is not accurate or true, let us say concerning a group of people, chances are high that you might cause a lot of harm. If for example it is a war situation.

The other reason why a reporter needs to report accurately is to keep people aware of the truth that is happening. As a reporter you should know that the information that you have is going to go out to millions of people. If you give out inaccurate information, you are likely to mislead people and they will be kept abreast of the wrong thing instead of them knowing what is actually happening. It is also a tricky situation because if people find out that you have been giving them information that is not true, they will lose trust in that media house. When people lose trust means that the ratings of the media house are going to go down. This will lead to fewer numbers of viewers and you might end up losing your job for that reason.

There are some techniques that reporter can use in order to ensure that the information that he or she is giving is true. One of the things that you need to do is to seek for reliable resources. This means looking for sources of stories that are real. You should also know that when reporting, an event that has a single eyewitness should be reported with attribution. Any event that has two or more eyewitnesses can be reported as a fact. The reports that are controversial should also be reported with attribution. You can also do an independent check by confirming some reports with other employees. If in any case you are not sure of something always consult the editor. These are some of the reasons why a reporter should report accurately.

The media travels everywhere with popular celebrities. If they could have a chance they would even be finding out what they are doing in their living rooms at night or how they sleep in their bedrooms. From the moment they step out of their doorsteps, their lives are in the hands of the media. These are the celebrities and how the media dictate their lives.

Have you ever wished you were a celebrity? This is the kind of life that you are going to face. Anywhere you go you are going to be followed around, any event you attend the cameras are always flashing in the front, the back and the sides. Many people want to be celebrities because of this kind of life but once it gets too much, you will start becoming weary of this kind of life. There are several reasons why the media makes the life of celebrities difficult. We are going to have a look at some of the reasons why their lives are made difficult by the media.

The first reason is that, they do not respect the privacy of the celebrities. The media follows these people everywhere they go. No one would want their lives to always be under watch such that they even tell when you are going to the toilet and how long you stay there. That is the private life of someone and the media should learn just how to respect that. There should be regulations that should be put in place which will dictate how much the media can dig into the private life of a celebrity. Many of them have complained that they cannot even spend time with their families and friends outside their homes because they are always watched. This kind of respect is what does not exist in the media.

The other way that the media makes the lives of celebrities difficult is by spreading rumors or false stories being published. How many times have we seen celebrities being shocked by stories that appear in the media about them that they have never heard about? The media does this to look for ratings and to get more viewers and readers. Some celebrities cry because of the false stories. Some of the scandals of rumors that are usually heard include the surgical stories. This is whereby the media claims that a certain celebrity has undergone the knife when it is not true. There are also the pregnancy issues and divorce issues. This is the private life of a person that the media should be watchful of before telling lies or spreading rumors. The media also destroys the lives of celebrities by exposing them so much. This is by releasing videos of the private lives of the celebrities for example the sex tapes of celebrities. They are published all over for the whole world to know which is very wrong. They are people and they deserve their own privacy just like other people. The media should give them a break. This is the life of celebrities that is really not theirs.

There are those that have the belief that the media should not involve itself in any kind of politics whatsoever. But what is really the relationship between the media and politics? There are different kinds of relationships between these two parties. The official ones that people know of are the principals that the government has been using to govern the media which include the freedom of the press. Some of them are the authoritarian, libertarian and so on.

The scene is quite different today. We see that the relationship that is there between the media and the political scene is a win-win factor. What is meant by a win-win situation is the fact that the politicians get into deals with the media whereby a media is given a list of the benefits that they are going to get from certain politicians if they do something for them. When you view this situation, you see that the media gets benefits and the politicians have the freedom of expressing what they want to the people. The reason why this kind of relation has been there is because most of the media that are doing well today are privately owned and the government has little control over them. Therefore, the only way that they can get to control them is by having a good rapport with them.

There is also the other side to this whereby the media takes advantage of the power they have to tarnish the names of other politicians that they do not like. This is widely seen during the times of elections. Sometimes it is evident to see the person that a particular media is rooting for. They will always be giving news of appraisal to a certain politician or a political party and coming up with controversial issues about the ones that they do not like. Sometimes it is evident that the media gets into politics that is not really necessary for them. However, as a politician, it is a very powerful tool to use during campaigns. The secret lies in picking the best media that has millions of viewers. This will be able to help you win many people over though it is going to be very expensive.

The media and politics cannot be completely separated because they have a peculiar type of understanding between one another. There are times that the politicians blame the media for certain things happening in the country because of the wrong dissemination of information. There are other times that the politicians use the media to tarnish other people, to do good and to send out information. There are the times that the media decides to illuminate the ills that are done by the government and then the politicians decide to shift blame to the media. The relationship between the media and politics cannot be really understood because there are times that it is cordial and there are times that they are enemies.

Should the media be controlled by the government? There are several things that are happening in the world today that is just hard to understand. A good example is how much power the government has on its people and most importantly, the media. There has been a public outcry in this issue whereby some people feel that it is bad for the government to try and control the media. On the other side, the government claims that it has every right to see that the media is controlled for the common good of the country.

Have you ever sat down and wondered why the government gets so interested in the media? Do you believe that they are doing it for the common good of the country? This is a hard question to answer but once you consider the reasons that are going to follow you will find the answer to the question. It is a common fact that the government is going to let nothing ruin its name. The media is referred to as the watchdog of the government. They keep an eye on what the government does and enlightens the people. Anytime the government does something wrong, the media is going to explicitly show it to the people. If they manage to control the media, they will reduce the chances of showing some of the wrong things that they do. This way they will be able to hide their ill-mannered behavior. Looking at it from the government’s point of view, they claim that they have every right to control the media because sometimes what the media has to portray is not right. If the government does not control the media, what is likely to happen? The television is going to evolve to a situation whereby they transmit some things that are not right for everyone to see. These include programs that have pornographical scenes, bad language and that are extremely violent in nature. These are going to deter the community from going on in terms of their morals. Actually, if the government was not in control, these are some of the things that could be flooding our televisions today.

Most of the media frequencies and transmitters that we see today are privately owned. The reason why many people decided to start owning their own media is because of the suppression of the government. During the previous years, the media was owned by the government and they would dictate what was to be aired and what was not to be aired. This kind of suppression made people start their own methods of transmission. The privately owned media was able to show people just what the government does and slowly by slowly the oppression started to fade away. The question regarding whether the government should control the media is an issue that is subject to broad discussion. What needs to be done is just to set rules that govern them but the government should not be directly involved in controlling them.

Recently, the most talked about news is The News Ltd Scandal. You might wonder what this is. This scandal is all about the newspaper company called News Limited. News Limited is the largest media-related company which has its branches all over the world employing more than 8000 staff along with 3000 journalists. This media empire belongs to Rupert Murdoch. News Limited is an Australian company controlling the majority of the newspapers in Australia. It distributes metropolitan newspapers to many cities like Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. It has employment websites as well as real estate websites. It owns digital media too. News Limited is owned completely by News Corp Limited. It even trades on the New York Stock Exchange.

News Limited expanded its holdings to the United States of America and Britain along with Australia. It offers a website for opinions from a large number of journalists in Australia and it has a website for multimedia and stories too. It is basically a phone-hacking scandal which brought out alot of hard questions. This company has been accused of hacking the phones of victims who are dead to obtain information for its newspaper. People started questioning about this hacking since it is atrocious to deal with this at the time of grieving. This led to the closure of this company since it had to answer so many hard questions before the committee members of the parliament in Britain.

John Hartigan, chief executive and chairman of the company News Limited said he would be happy to answer the questions asked by the people. Hartigan refused the accusation that it has hacked victim’s phones in Australia. In the meantime, Malcolm Turnbull who is a spokesman and a former journalist also said that phone hacking has not been done in Australia. The phone hacking scandal of a murdered British school girl is boiling again. Even though Rupert Murdoch has denied his responsibility in this scandal, many newspapers carry letters of apology with the signature of Rupert Murdoch. Nowadays the media fails to do their duty and gives inappropriate and cooked stories to its readers to mislead them to believe their news. They intervene in the privacy of the public to the core and behave in a very demeaning way. They change the perspective of the readers by giving wrong news.

In the United States of America also, there is doubt that the journalists of the News Limited Company might have tried to hack the phones of the victims of the 911 tragedy which shook the world. The victims also include dead troops’ families, politicians, celebrities, victims of terrorist attacks, and murderers. The Head of News International and chief executive of News International have also resigned due to this scandal. This scandal has brought out the relation between police and the journalists since some police authorities have their part in providing the phone numbers and other details of the victims to the journalists. Some police personnel are also criticized in this scandal. This has questioned the ethical standards and culture of the media. The Media’s duty is to provide us with facts, protect the people, and to create awareness of the problems. But if the media itself does not follow its ethics, then it is really difficult to come to a proper judgment. We should go into depth and find the people responsible for this. It is our responsibility to bring out the truth. Let us stop more scandals.

What’s going on with our economy? You can get some news about the latest government situations through your local newspaper, radio, tv and now the Internet. But the big question is, are we really in a bad situation? If our government is in deep trouble, why are we still getting involved in wars in different countries? The media in the US is not providing the actual facts about what is really going on.

Why do the media have to make a lot of stories that are not relevant on the actual facts on what is really going on with our economy? Why do they have release some information that will generate the real and truthful news of the actual situation in our government. If we are in bad situation, we should be focusing on how we can divert all issues and concentration into a solution. The media in the US should provide an actual scenario of what’s really happening in our economy. They don’t have to hide anything, besides they cannot do anything to change it. The media in the US should be more direct as to why and how can we change our life in this country so we can have a better life again.

The media in the US is not helping the economy, they are making it worse with some wrong information. They should be giving us the latest update on what is really going to happen in our economy within the next year or so. What will happen to our economy, will it be better or is it going to be worse? We all want to know if there’s going to be any changes or not. We don’t want read or hear something that just going to waste our time listening or even watching news on tv. We don’t even know if we are getting the right information anymore.

Many people don’t even want to buy newspapers anymore. They would rather watch tv or listen to radio for the latest news. But we are not getting that type of news anymore. The only thing that people are reading nowadays is all about war in different countries, the killing of drug lords and other unnecessary news. That’s why I don’t feel like reading a newspaper anymore, it’s all about politics.

The media in the US is the one that’s making a lot of money through sponsorships. But if you are looking on the other side of the coin, people don’t care about that type of news anymore, they want to see what will happen to our economy within the near future. This is what the public would like to see, what are the main features of our future in this country. Where are we heading for the year 2012 ? Look at the front page of a newspaper, all you can see is all about Syria, Iraq and all other different stories about war. Why can’t we think of something about the better future of our country in the year 2012. I hope that the media in the US will somehow change and become more exciting and educational.

Millions of people all over the world can now get internet access. From there we can read news online anytime. People can get the latest information from the media’s stand point but we don’t have any idea of when and how the media is getting their information. Nobody knows how they are creating the stories they are providing the public. In return, the public are just accepting the information from whatever they are going to get from their local online news. But who knows if they are getting an accurate news from the media.

How the media can use the internet to sway the opinions of people in many countries

The media can create stories of any current events in every countries that they are in, but you can’t tell if that local news is providing a wrong or correct news to inform everyone or all the people around the globe. The media can sway information that they want on the news just to make some stories and have something to talk about. There were times that, the media has caused war in different countries. It is most likely the media is the one that’s going to create a problem.

Sometimes the stories that you are getting are not even relevant to the actual topic and if you try to figure it out, it turns out to be misleading. The media had the right to create a story of what’s happening in their specific countries. They have all the ability to justify something that’s going to become the main topic of the news. But the question is, how reliable is that story is going to be. Will that be the actual fact of what is really happening in that country? Is that a legitimate story to publicize and will that story be the actual facts not just something that the editor had thought about. This is where the media can manipulate the whole facts of the story. It is crucial to provide that information on the Internet and let the world deal with wrong and misleading information. That is actually not fair for the public to read and feed in wrong information. It is vital for every country to have an honest and accurate media that will be willing to write an accurate news and information to the public and around the world.

Just like what the media is doing about the December 21 2012, they are creating a story to make the whole world start to panic and try to figure out if the end of the world is going to happen . People can easily pick up what they can get from any specific news on the Internet. They don’t even have any idea of how accurate the information is and yet they are going to worry about it and will start to create destructive information through out the world. That is how the news can create a story that will give many readers a big question mark in their mind if that news is true or not.

Just beware of what you are going to read online because this is how the media can use the Internet to sway the opinions of people in many countries.

Every person in this world relies on TV, radio, newspaper and the Internet for the latest and the hottest stories to talk about, or in essence whatever news is significant to whichever country they may be in. So what happens when the media does not report news truthfully?

There are occasions why and when the media does not report news truthfully, simply because of the fact that they are paid to construe the idea differently, they are a member of an organization that lives for power, or due to personal grudge or agenda.

So does it affect a simple person when the media does not report the news truthfully? Let me give a not-so complex example. In showbiz, a 20 year old celebrity girl exclusively signed for an established TV station, broke up with a celebrity guy who just quit his job and went elsewhere. A video on YouTube about them getting an abortion suddenly came about. It became more controversial because the girls’ image is conservative, so all the Station did was a smear – campaign, they used all their resources to hide the truth by doing sympathy interviews while she cried - image build ups and lawsuits were filed. In the world full of stress, people buy it, because it’s all everyone talks about it. A responsible TV station should bring more than just this ugly story, why don’t we see or hear about a senior citizens that “bill” was finally approved or a new cure for a sickness that has been found? As an avid viewer, we do not see the other side of the story when the media does not report news truthfully. We become blinded by what we know and we become ignorant and one-sided.

This issue has been crippling what the true meaning of Media is. When the media does not report news truthfully, we judge an innocent person because of how it was delivered to us, even if the person has not gone to trial, we’ve already decided he was guilty. So this is unfair to the viewing public, to radio listeners, newspaper listeners and internet users. The Media’s role is to provide unbiased, factual, informative and honest news that will let us know for the reason of responsible public service only and not for anyone’s favor.

We know the media does not report news truthfully when the election is on, so many lies, black propagandas and to promote oneself. Why can’t we show and interview them all, instead of only a few? This is due to the fact that the Executives of whatever type of Media are either paid or promised to do something when elected. We know how conniving and dirty politics and the government are but fraudulent newsmen/women still agree to this scheme. There are only a few who live up to responsible broadcasting standards. Since we are the ones receiving the information, we must do something when the media does not report news truthfully. We do have resources too, like the Internet by using social media sites, blogging, or information campaigns - let’s use our freedom to express ourselves so that these irresponsible people wake up to themselves and start bringing us accurate and truthful news that reflects reality.

Our world is changing every day, with a constant change in both evolutionary and revolutionary terms. Not all of them however, are for the good of this planet. There are so many instances of accomplishment, heroic deeds and heart-warming instances that occur on a daily basis. At the same time, there are instances of violence, corruption and power struggles. More often than not, the news, publications and all forms of media are dominated by the latter. FS Why?!

The media coverage of what really matters to the massive population we have today is abysmal. With the world’s population touching 7 billion, and that’s only human beings mind you, there is so much need for responsible living. If you look around, you will see how most people live a life of complete ignorance and with blatant disregard to a better tomorrow. Simple things like running taps or wasted electricity are simple, yet crucial elements that need to be highlighted. There are some people who never respond to other people, or even friends telling them anything, even if it is for their own direct benefit. However, seeing a picture, or reading a caption in a noted media form makes these very people stop and think about their actions, even if it is just for a second or two. The media has the power to make a change, and they neglect their very duty.

There are countless ways the media fails the public- even online media and esubjects. If someone develops something new – a technology that can be easily adopted or an activity simple to practice – that we, as large nations can adopt and contribute to change, it is the duty of the media to bring it to the fore. We need little or no news on celebrity gossip, about power struggles in companies among the higher management – these things don’t make a difference to our world. What matters are ideas, and the many simple ways there are to implement them. OB

How many people switch off their engines while waiting at a long stoplight? Some cars have enormous engines that guzzle fuel like there’s no tomorrow, and people are indifferent to it. How often do newspapers or magazines carry a simple caption telling us to do so? Why do automobile manufacturers have to spend millions of dollars to develop technologies that switch off the engine automatically when the vehicle comes to a standstill? Would you rather pay a $1,000 for it, or would you rather just stretch out your hand and turn the key? Simple understanding is all that the situation demands, and only the media can make it possible. What we need to know is if someone finds a cure for the common cold, and not which celebrity had a haircut recently. We need to know about breakthroughs in the weight loss arena such as african mango or acai berry or about technologies that will help teachers connect with their students better, not how much Bill Gates earned last financial year!

More often than not, the various media companies are influenced by a higher power – politicians, large companies that “insist” that the news reports published are tailored to incorporate a certain message, and also includes how the public should perceive that message. That is blatant manipulation of media for negative purposes. Social media is now the ultimate standpoint. We, the people, are the ones who must take action and spread the message.

The responsibilities of the media

The media is an extremely powerful entity these days. It was always very powerful. However, with many ways to transmit information such as the radio, television, newspaper and magazines with more modern forms arising through the internet, what is said or written can reach many more people at a much faster rate. When information is misleading or biased,it can change the world we live in, sometimes in dramatic fashion. The power of the internet to inform about any topic from smokeless cigarettes to Idol Lash to flooring Garland can be seen simply by doing a Google search. The ability to target local search results from anywhere in the world with specific search engine optimization techniques such as Orlando SEO or SEO Dallas has made the possibilities for media communication endless. Wrong interpretations can create tension between nations, affect families and destroy institutions. It just makes it that much more important to recognise the influential role the media plays and the danger it holds when that power given by the public is abused. It is society’s mouthpiece, it’s conscience.

One of the major tenets for the media is it’s responsibility to shoulder the burden of information and disseminate it effectively. For this, the media must be as objective as possible. In reality, no news is ever completely objective. Once a human being writes an article, broadcasts news or types on a website, it will be exposed to some level of subjectivity. This can’t be prevented, but it can be reduced. There are many topics which demand to be reported on objectively. Many people rely on the facts when deciding whether to try health products such as resveratrol or when deciding whether to invest in property or shares based on the current market or whether to take payday loans. Whatever form of media used should have some type of ethics and integrity. Objectivity can’t be reached, but with the correct journalistic ethics it gives an ideal to work towards. Biasses in all forms should be prevented at all times.

The media should be independent of other institutions. It has been well known throughout the years the influence governments have on the media. From every side of the globe, we have heard one story or another stating the governments interference on it’s local media. By forcing media houses to close down, by attacking journalists, by shutting down certain websites and restricting what is offered by the television and radio, many of us believe that this is the only way they can influence the media. However, in many societies with a seemingly independent media background, they receive more subtle forms of influence. It doesn’t even have to be subtle! With many media-houses displaying a preference for a certain political leaning, the chance of receiving objective information is close to nil.

It must be free from the influence of the private sector also. Even though it can’t be avoided in most cases, because they provide funding through advertisements and other ventures, their influence can limit information used for your judgement. If that brand name drink is safe to consume, that restaurant is sanitary or if the car you seek to buy may be safe, you may not know! Another more recent issue has arisen though. With the rise of social media and search optimization that is affordable to everyone through cheap seo services, information can spread like wildfire with no responsibility being taken simply because it is an institution without ethics or standards. JSN It must be noted, that many people are obtaining all their information from social network sites!

It is all up to the user to make sense of this overload of information, some from formal and informal forms of media. BeiBei Each of these forms have a responsibility to the public to display information that is as objective as possible to as many people so they can be their own judge and not be told what to believe. PF We live in a world with many different views so it is even more challenging for the media to be fair and unbiased, but they must do it.

The vice called Media

The media business is the most insensitive business around the world. Agreed, most of the businesses are usually relentlessly aggressive, however, there are some ethical protocols even with competitors. The Media on the other hand, are not concerned with anyone’s wellbeing/privacy/integrity. All they are concerned about is themselves and the addition of spice to any news which can sell their news better than their competitors. The Media is notoriously known for the different ways in which it distorts the truth.

For a long time, the most common forms of media communication were printing and broadcasting. However, since the 1990s, the Internet has also contributed largely to this communication. More companies and channels have come up with their own news media for doing business. Needless to say, there is cut throat competition amongst all of these news media. This competition sometimes turns into an abomination for some people. The Media has the power to make or break someone’s career. It can turn someone into a heroic figure overnight but at the same time destroy someone’s image permanently. The media can make customers trust in a good product such as Crescent Processing or it can spread lies. The Media can make people believe certain things which no one would have believed otherwise. The Media has been misusing all these powers over several years to distort the truth.

The Media is no one’s. It will communicate good things about certain subjects (topics/personalities/events) only because currently, that subject’s “good qualities” are more sellable and popular than its “bad qualities”. As soon as the subject gets a little unpopular or if the media has enough sellable poison, the same people will write things which would eventually humiliate the subject and bring it down. This is the obnoxious nature of all the news media around the world. Although some people are aware of this fact, they are helpless.

The paparazzi are like a bunch of hungry hyenas trying to steal/suck whatever is available. They sell all the candid photographs of celebrities to media which shamelessly publishes the same for their business. It is believed that the pursuing paparazzi were partially responsible for the death of Princess Diana. These paparazzi harass celebrities and destroy their privacy and personal lives. One can’t think of other immoral, unethical jobs worse than these, except terrorism!

However, the media’s vices do not stop just here. They are largely involved in bias. Some news items are conveniently ignored or avoided about certain topics so that people are not made aware of the truth. The main reason can be the aforementioned nature of the news media. The second reason can be political involvement. Yes, the bad news continues. There is significant political involvement in the media too. We all know how bad the reputation of politics around the world is. We shudder to think what these two malevolent forces can deliver in combination! Some media channels are paid money by these politicians to broadcast certain news about some topics. These channels oblige the politicians by distorting the truth. Even the vice-versa happens. Certain influential media channels bribe cheap politicians to speak incorrectly against someone/some topics. The manner in which they present the incorrect news is such that, people sometimes are totally unaware of the truth.

It is a fact that media has failed more often than it has delivered. Slowly but surely, the common man is losing trust in the media.

How the media can distort public opinion

The media holds the key to almost all the information that we see or hear today. They are the only entity that can dictate the opinion of the public to their direction. Have you ever asked yourself if the information that is portrayed by the media is the gospel truth? Most importantly have you ever considered or the thought of the fact that the media can distort public opinion? It is true that sometimes the actual public opinion differs from what the media claims is the public opinion. This is one characteristic of the media that is slowly leading to its failure. This is why businesses conduct their own campaigns of business intelligence before making important marketing decisions rather than simply relying on what the media may tell us about a certain market. The media likes to give out information according to how they feel is right for them or in a way that is going to create controversy to boost their ratings or favor a certain motion.

There are several ways on how the media can distort public opinion. The first method of doing this is by reporting lies. This is what is heavily used by the media so much. They report and send out information that is not true. They indulge in reporting news and information that is inaccurate and some that satisfies their needs. Since the media has become like a Bible to many people nowadays, it is likely to be believed by many people. Motivational speakers can reach an enormous audience and have a huge impact when it comes to convincing people thanks to the media. Consider this, how many times have you been involved in a strong argument with someone about certain information regarding the news and then you decide to refer to the internet? There are many occasions when this has happened; and whatever information that you get whether it is not the actual truth, you are going to settle on that it is the truth. For example an article on the best online CRM software or a video that recommends Patek Philippe watches is likely to convince you that these products are the best, and in many cases these products are the best but it is thanks to their prescence in the media that you listen to the message. In this way the media would have distorted your opinion on a certain issue through the internet.

The other technique that the government uses to sway the minds of people is by creating imaginative opinions. If you are a careful news viewer, it is very easy to notice this. There are times that the public can be asked what they feel about a certain topic or whether they believe if something is true or not. It is not in all cases that the media will give the correct information on what the people think. You as the viewer might think that the public has a certain opinion regarding something and what the media did is just play around with the results to suit the interests of certain people. The media has a way of playing with the psychology of the masses just like marketers do so with free offers such as free wii points or voucher codes in order to get people to take a certain action such as purchase more fancy dress costumes. They will heavily use this to their advantage. They can get the opinion of one person and generalize it. Since they know that many people follow them and believe what they say, they will report anything. The only problem comes about when another media reports a different view on the same story. This brings a state of confusion in the viewer’s minds and leads them to have a distorted opinion. The media can only do people good by just reporting facts. This is one way that they can actually, win the crediblity of the people.

Why the Media Needs To Adopt a Higher Ethical Standard

If you look for the same story on different IYC news media shows you are likely going to find that each channel or newspaper will have a slightly different story. You would think that seeing as how a story is really only one way that they would all have the same facts and the same story. This is not the case however and it is because the different media outlets will use their opinions to help with swaying the story one way or another to make it sound best for them.

This is often times very frustrating. There needs to be some kind of ethical standard that these people try to live up to. This should hold them to reporting the truth and for them not to purposely try to mislead the public with their opinions by leaving out or adding in information that can sway the story in a different way.

The really sad thing is that you don’t know what media outlets you can trust anymore. It is not just the liberal or just the conservative media that is taking part in being misleading. This is happening with all the different outlets out there. They are all swayed stories in one way or another.

If a certain outlet feels that reporting a story will make them look bad, even though it is relevant to the people who watch the local news or read the local newspaper, they might leave it out just to help their view on things. This has been shown time and time again as some stations or newspapers will report on an important story and others will act like the event never even took place.

If you are a form of media and your job is to inform people about stories that are relevant to them and have an impact on their lives then that is what should be done whether the story could potentially hurt your own viewpoint or not. Reinventing Aging The people have a right to know what is going on around them and things can’t just be left out or even misconstrued simply because it is what you want to do. This is not acceptable.

These are just a few of the many different reasons that the media needs to have some standard to live up to. They need to have some kind of code put in place that would require that they report the truth without misleading the viewers or even refusing to report the story all together simply because they don’t want to. This is especially important when it comes to reporting statistics. If it has to do with those in the local area they have a right to know about it and for that reason it needs to be reported. Just one example is the health product african mango that has the potential to help alot of people control their weight – it is important for the public to know about such information. If the media has difficulty in being objective when reporting the facts an independent essay writing service could be used to critique their work. If the media starts to live up to a higher code of ethics it could make things better for everyone as they are able to see the full truth of things and are better able to make informed decisions when it comes to what they do and how they vote as well as other things.
